The situation

What has happened

Coupe MG-221 Nangwarry West is a 61.8 hectare radiata pine clearfall approved in principle and scheduled to start on 19 October when Crew A finishes Kalangadoo North. The northern access road has a weak culvert and a section of soft base that must be upgraded before B-double log trucks use it. A minor drainage line crosses the south-east corner and a neighbouring landowner keeps horses on the boundary paddock. The coupe will start in the fire danger period, so the plan must include fire readiness, and the haulage split is 60 percent sawlog to Heyfield and 40 percent pulp log to a chip customer. The Forest Operations Manager wants a complete draft harvest plan by 30 September.

What to look for

Evidence guide

The plan must be internally consistent: the road sequence must finish before the start date, the truck numbers must match the daily volume and the split, and the buffer and exclusion zones must appear on both the map and the written controls. Fire readiness must reflect the plan's daily restrictions. Look for the student identifying the neighbour and the culvert as risks and treating them, and for a realistic list of approvals still needed.
